Puffle Improvement Update

Hello Penguins! Some of you may have already noticed that the team updated a few things for puffles recently. In case you missed it, here are a few things they updated last week:
New ways to play with your pet... You can now poke, pet or even tickle your puffles!
New puffle mats in the Pet Shop. Now the carpet in the middle of the room looks different depending on which puffle is walking with you!

Club Penguin May/June 2011 Sneak Peek

Summer is right around the corner, and so are lots of new exciting things coming to Club Penguin this May and June! It all starts this week with a new catalog at the Gift Shop! Check out the teaser pics below for a sampler of things to come…Herbert, the Medieval Party, and possibly an unknown party/new catalog (I’m referring to the top pic) – all of that and more coming up very soon!

Hello Penguins! Last week we mentioned that we'll be celebrating animals this Earth Day, and asked about your favorite animals. There were a lot of unique and interesting animal choices in the comments, from bats to wolves to... unicorns? Thanks for everyone's participation! Here's an interesting choice from Deception1: My favorite animal of all time is a manatee. I love how they're so gentle, and they look so cuddly! Manatees are very sweet, and I would love to meet one! Manatees are nicknamed "sea-cows", because they are vegetarians, and eat lots of grass and sea-plants. In my dreams, I don't ride on backs of dolphins, I ride on magnificant manatees, decked out in gold and jewels! For this week's Reviewed by You, we want to hear about your Earth Day plans. Greetings Penguins! Happy77 here. Thanks for sending all those great questions last week. I picked a few of them and asked a puffle expert for some tips and tricks on how to care for your pets. Here's what they had to say: Luky131 asked: "What can I do for my puffles not to runaway?" Keep them happy! Puffles love snacks, being brushed, going for walks and playing games! Puffles don't run away quite so easily since the updates back in March. Sonic946 asked: "Hi ! I¹d like to know one thing: why can't puffles use all of the puffle toys? For example, the blue puffle using the rocket or the yellow puffle using the ball." Just like you've probably got favorite toys, puffles do, too. If you have suggestions for NEW puffle toys, please let us know! Alex asked: "How do you know food puffles like the most? There are so many that I get confused. What puffle likes what food? What do I click on?" You'll never know what your puffle likes until you try to feed it. Watch its facial expressions. Puffles will jump up and down in excitement if they like the food you're giving them. Lyfi45 asked: "Why is black puffle always in a bad mood?" I happen to have a soft spot for grumpy creatures - I've got a few black puffles but they aren't even really that grumpy. They're just really intense. Mine definitely smiles when he's got his skateboard. Canza1 asked: "Why can't all puffles swim?" For the same reason we don't all love eating artichokes, cleaning our rooms, or doing push-ups. Hi everyone! Screenhog here, with part two of puffle origins. This time, let’s talk about the purple, red, and yellow puffles. The next puffle was the yellow puffle in November 2007. Yellow puffles, who love anything artistic, kept themselves hidden for years. But when penguins started to build a Stage, they were too curious to stay away any longer. In 2006, the purple puffle was the fifth puffle type to be discovered. The first penguin known to have a purple puffle was Aunt Arctic, but one day, she lost it. She turned to the Penguin Secret Agency for help, and the purple puffle was found. Soon after, other purple puffles populated the Pet Shop. (Say that three times fast.)The red puffle came soon after, and was brought by Rockhopper as a special Christmas gift. Red puffles are native to Rockhopper Island, and only arrived on Club Penguin after hitching a ride on Rockhopper’s ship!That’s all for now! Next time, it’s the stories of the last three puffle colors!

Club Penguin Thinking About Japan

Hello Penguins!
A little over a week ago, a major earthquake and tsunami struck Japan, causing massive damage. For those of you affected by this disaster, know that everyone in Club Penguin is thinking of you and your family during this time.Since last week, we’ve received a lot of inspiring comments and great suggestions from you about different disasters around the world. Many of you have asked about ways to help others when tragedies happen.
Over the next week, we’ll be featuring a few blog posts dedicated to helping your community in times of need. And we’d like you to be involved!
We’ve already seen a bunch of your pictures, screenshots and videos dedicated to Japan. We’d like to feature some of your pictures on Club Penguin to show our support! Send your images to us here. We’ll publish some of them in different places around Club Penguin in the next few weeks.

New Game, New Launch Date

Hello Penguins!
Last week we mentioned that the team is working on a new arcade game for the Lounge. We asked you what your dream arcade game would be, and Fastflier 2 said:
“I think it should be a robot building game.”
Guess what, Fastflier 2? That’s what the team is working on right now! The new arcade game is called Bits & Bolts, and you’ll be able to play it in the renovated Lounge. Here’s a sneak peek of one of the robots:The game was originally going to launch tomorrow, but it’s not quite finished yet. The team will not have the game ready until next week. I’ll keep you posted as I find out more. Thanks for your patience as we work out all the leftover ‘bits’.

New Mascots Coming to Club Penguin!

Yes, three new mascots are coming to Club Penguin! How cool is that? Two of this new mascots aren’t exactly “new” but there’s one that is… First of all, thank you Brufee and @pen50gicp for this exclusives. Should we take a look? Oh yesh!Sweet! As you can see, the Puffle Trainer and Rory are not that “new” to Club Penguin since they have been seen before on the Nintendo DS games. But look! There’s an old Klutzy!! Take a closer look:

You can choose one of them and they can help you create a cannon for yourself! Club Penguin had added stamps for different achivements. Check them out:Pretty cool huh? Screenhog on Puffle History

Hi everyone, Screenhog here with a fun bit of info about Club Penguin's history!
Last month, a penguin named Gwen78 said that she wanted to hear the history of where the puffles came from. Well, I have no idea where they originally came from, but I can tell you how they were all discovered on Club Penguin!
You see, it used to be that penguins thought that they were the only creatures that lived on the island... until something strange began to happen. Furry creatures began popping up all over the place:It turned out that Club Penguin was full of these furry creatures, and there were four colors; blue, pink, green, and black. After determining that the creatures were safe, the penguins of the island named them "puffles". Penguins loved the puffles, and wanted to take care of them, so a Pet Shop was built.
Most of the puffles really enjoyed the opportunity to be adopted by penguins, but the green puffle in the Night Club loved his spot so much that he stayed there. So, next time you're in the Night Club, say hi to one of the oldest puffles in Club Penguin.

Bug Squashed + New Puffle Features Launched!

Yesterday I said that I'd give you an update on the bug that was disconnecting some of you from the server. The team just squashed that pesky bug! Now you should be able to play without getting disconnected. Thanks for being so patient!

Make sure you clear your cache so you have the latest data from the server.
Meanwhile, there's a lot happening in the Pet Shop right now -- the new Puffle features are finally here! I won't spoil any of the surprises, so check it out and let us know what you think!

Pet Shop Under Construction!!!

Hey everyone!
Today, the Club Penguin Puffle Party of 2011 has now arrived to Club Penguin! There are so many things to do during this month’s party; hangout with your puffle, check out the decorated rooms and much more! If you check out the login screen on Club Penguin, you can see a new decorated puffle login screen!
Blue Puffle Hat: (For both non-members and members)
You can receive the cool new item at the Plaza. Just walk up to the box and select: ‘Yes’
Puffle Show: (Members only)
You can enter the Puffle Show by clicking on one of the posters spread all around the island or go to the Ski Village.
Bring your puffles with you when so you can enter the show! Just walk towards the ‘Start’ and watch your puffle complete all of the tasks in the show!
Striped Puffle Jacket: (Members only)
Inside the Puffle contest you can earn yourself a cool new puffle jacket for yourself! Looks really creative!

The Puffle Party is coming this Friday and also staring this Friday we will be able to adopt our own brown puffles! How cool is that? Ima buy lots of brown puffles! Haha… Anyway, here’s a sneak peek Billybob recently posted on the Community Blog:COOL! Can you recognize that room? I do, it’s the Night Club roof! Can’t believe it’s gonna be opened for the first time at the Puffle Party! But why? Why?! Does this have something to do with Candence? I mean, it’s only opened when Cadence is in town! Could this mean Cadence is coming? I hope so! Haha…

Happy77 Interviews a Brown Puffle Artist

Happy77 posted on the Whats New blog today. She said most of you had questions about the brown puffle, so she got an artist to answer them!

Q. Tell me some cool facts about the brown puffle!A: Well, I’m sure you’ve noticed brown puffles love to invent stuff. Their inventions don’t always work too well, but that doesn’t stop them.Brown puffles are very smart and focused, and like to observe the world around them. They’re always looking for new ideas.
Q. I like the brown puffle’s goggles. Why do they wear them?A: It’s always ‘safety first’ with brown puffles. They even wear goggles when they eat and sleep!
Q. Do brown puffles have anything to do with Protobot?A: Hmm… I’m not sure. Brown puffles do like machines…
Q. My brown puffle ran away! How do I adopt another one?A: Sorry to hear that! In February you’ll be able to adopt another brown puffle in the Pet Shop. We just need enough of them to follow us out of the wild.
